Stuck in a rut creating content for social media? Let’s hit pause for a moment.

Before wasting any more valuable time in the content vortex, it’s time to audit your followers. Many Realtors spend loads of time planning, preparing, curating their social media content — it can be exhausting (right there with you!) — and for many, they can’t quite seem to ‘crack the code’ to generate business from it…chances are it’s not getting in front of the right audience.

Who are you connected to - is it friends, family, colleagues, professional partners, organic followers? You need to know this! You can spend as much time (or money with a service) generating content for you, but if your posts don’t speak to your audience, you’re just contributing to more digital pollution. So I ask you, what’s your strategy?

What is your goal with social media? Finding new business? Networking? Or perhaps just a place to have content in lieu of a website blog. To achieve success with each of these, the strategy looks very different. But one KEY MUST which unfortunately does take loads of time, is engagement.

If you have 1000s of followers, how many do you think see each and every post? They don’t. If you’re not engaging with others, the likelihood is VERY high they don’t see your posts at all. And vice versa. Do you find yourself engaging more/less with the same accounts daily? If you stop that consistency, you’ll notice their presence drops. It’s the algorithm.

Do yourself a favour - audit your followers now, get really clear with your goals and how you want to leverage social media, don’t fall into the trap of just ‘posting to post’ or to ‘have content’.
